The Central Geelong Heritage Fund (formerly known as the
Major Heritage Fund) offers grants to undertake restoration works to eligible
commercial heritage buildings in Central Geelong
The program has a key focus on heritage restoration projects which have been identified through heritage studies and/or evidence to support their restoration, and will benefit the commercial streetscapes in Central Geelong.
Eligible projects may include (but aren't limited to):
- reinstating a verandah or other historic building element that has been removed;
- reinstating or reconstructing a historic building facade;
- removing introduced building facades and paintwork;
- restoring building names and historic building signage
Priority projects: strategic restoration projects for buildings that are located within a 'priority streetscape area' as referred to in the grant guidelines.
General projects: all other heritage restoration projects in Central Geelong which meet the eligibility criteria.

Applications for 2019-2020 opened on Friday
7 June 2019 and closed at 5:00pm on Friday 2 August 2019.
