Central Geelong Heritage Fund

The Central Geelong Heritage Fund (formerly known as the Major Heritage Fund) offers grants to undertake restoration works to eligible commercial heritage buildings in Central Geelong

The program has a key focus on heritage restoration projects which have been identified through heritage studies and/or evidence to support their restoration, and will benefit the commercial streetscapes in Central Geelong.

Eligible projects may include (but aren't limited to):

  • reinstating a verandah or other historic building element that has been removed;
  • reinstating or reconstructing a historic building facade;
  • removing introduced building facades and paintwork;
  • restoring building names and historic building signage

Funding streams

Priority projects: strategic restoration projects for buildings that are located within a 'priority streetscape area' as referred to in the grant guidelines.

General projects: all other heritage restoration projects in Central Geelong which meet the eligibility criteria.

Grant round closed.

Applications for 2019-2020 opened on Friday 7 June 2019 and closed at 5:00pm on Friday 2 August 2019.
