Playing the Ghost: Geelong's Guisers and Ghost Hoaxers of the Victorian Era

Learn about the fascinating and peculiar fad of the late 19th century where young people 'played the ghost', disguising themselves in elaborate ghost and monster costumes accentuated with phosphorescent paint, in an attempt to scare people at night.

Presented by Dr David Waldron, Lecturer in History and Anthropology, School of Education and Arts, Federation University.

Presented in partnership with the Victorian Seniors Festival.

All ages welcome.
