It’s an unfortunate fact that every year many cats are euthanised due to unwanted pregnancies. Not only is this an unfortunate animal welfare situation, but also a significant financial burden to the community.
You can help by...
- ensuring your cat/s are desexed and micro-chipped
- contacting Council regarding any stray cats that could be contained, desexed and re-homed
- helping us to reduce the number of unwanted kittens being born.
Council Domestic Animal Management Plan requires that all newly registered cats are desexed at the time of registration.
A fact! - A pair of entire cats can lead to the birth of up to 132 cats over a 4 year period! So we encourage you to take the opportunity in making a difference by having your cat treated.
